About Colm

I’m Colm, an RSA-approved driving instructor based in Limerick with 15+ years experience and the person behind Progress Motoring.

Alongside teaching, I work in the emergency services, where staying calm, being aware of what’s happening around you and making safe decisions are part of everyday life.

My approach to driving lessons is patient, practical and supportive. I understand that everyone learns differently, and lessons are tailored to your experience, confidence and individual needs.

The focus isn’t just on helping you pass your driving test. It’s about helping you become a safe, confident and capable driver for life.

Why Learn With Me?

Calm & Patient

Learning to drive can be nerve-racking, especially when you’re just starting out or you’ve lost confidence on the road. I keep lessons calm and supportive, giving you the time you need to learn without feeling rushed or under pressure.

RSA-Approved Driving Instructor

As an RSA-approved driving instructor, I provide professional, structured lessons tailored to your experience and ability. We’ll work on the areas you need to improve while building the skills and confidence you need to drive independently.

Recommended by Limerick Learners

I’m proud that Progress Motoring has grown through recommendations from learners across Limerick. I’ve helped complete beginners, nervous drivers and experienced drivers looking to refresh their skills, and I aim to make every lesson a positive and comfortable experience.

Real-World Driving Experience

Alongside Progress Motoring, I work in the emergency services. Staying calm, being aware of what’s happening around me and making safe decisions are an important part of my everyday work, and they’re principles I bring into my driving lessons too.

Building Confidence, Not Just Passing Tests

Everyone learns differently.

Some people are excited to get behind the wheel from day one. Others are nervous, lack confidence or are returning to driving after spending years away from it.

That’s why I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to driving lessons.

I’ll tailor your lessons to where you are now and what you need to work on. You’ll know what you’re doing well, where you need more practice and what we’re working towards.

Of course, passing your driving test is an important goal. But my job isn’t just to help you pass a test.

It’s to help you become a safe, confident and capable driver for life.

Ready to Get Behind the Wheel?

Whether you’re starting from scratch, preparing for your test or simply looking to feel more confident on the road, I’ll meet you where you are and help you take the next step.

Ready when you are.
